Mariela's Sweets was founded in 2021 by Jess, a 100% self-taught baker with a passion for the art of baking and entrepreneurship. She was born and raised in Guatemala, and moved in 2008 to Boston, MA to go to grad-school. She now holds an MBA and a MS in Global Marketing Management from Boston University.
She fell in love with Macarons in 2013 when she traveled to France and tried them for the first time.
Behind the company name:
Mariela is the name of Jessica's four year old daughter.
